This open source, open hardware project started at https://github.com/GrechTech/RetroRosetta/ and has v2 information at https://github.com/GrechTech/Rosetta/ and elsewhere. Grech, the author, described this as the reason the project was created: "Big initial driving factor was to improve accessibility with retro consoles (by supporting remapping and the Xbox Adaptive controller amognst others), with a side focus on reducing e-waste (by supporting multiplayer and DIY adaptors made from recycled controller cables, hopefully allowing people to avoiding need 2-4 controllers for every system they own)".
